Understanding Alzheimer's
What is Alzheimer's and what does it do? It is a progressive disease that will unfortunately take away the memory and other important mental functions that will change who your loved ones are. Cognitive, Behavioral, Mood and Psychological are some groups of physical changes they may/will experience. Families that choose to keep their loved ones at home with care has been shown to have a greater positive affect for them.
I understand the challenges that come with caring for loved ones with Alzheimer's and Dementia. Those affected by this will feel lost, confused, angry and so much more. Having to face so many new changes and challenges it's important to provide a sense of normalcy for them. With a new routine in place for him/her to follow it will help them navigate the challenges they now face. I strive to enhance their quality of life with educational activities and hobbies that will help them stay engaged and alert. Finding ways to connect and provide comfort when it's needed the most.
I am dedicated to providing exceptional care, committed to creating a warm and nurturing environment where each person is valued and supported. I believe in the power of empathy, respect, and personalized attention to make a positive impact on the lives of those I care for. I have seen so many affected with this disease in some form that are easily pushed aside as if they no longer matter. Being "Labeled" since there is a lack of awareness and understanding preventing them from a quality of life they should have. Receiving an early diagnosis and a proper care plan can be beneficial even though there is currently no cure for Alzheimer's. Even those in late stages can still benefit from a plan to provide a way of security for them.
Homecare with benefits for your loved ones!
Dedicated To:
This is Sandra, she was my mother living with Frontal Lobe Dementia, a less common type of the disease. I choose to keep her home and provided care even when it was 24/7. It was the best decision I could have made for her. The moments and teachings I received from her while going through this together is something I cherish and want to pass along.
I'm a CNA and want to change the way of homecare working with those who have Alzheimer's/Dementia. It's a lot more than the daily required housecleaning and other duties most perform. I also make it about the educational care they will receive with mind challenged skills and interaction.
